ABSTRACT: As the foundation of soil fertility, microbially mediated soil organic matter (SOM) formation and break-down is a critical factor of agroecosystem sustainability. In this study we did a field experiment that had some different treatments in a specific location. We measured a bunch of different soil properties and sequenced soil DNA. Our results are interesting, showing that soil ecology is very important. In conclusion, we should continue to study soil ecology.
